Emma Watson stars in terrifying 'Regression' trailer

The movie sees the actress reunite with David Thewlis, who played Remus Lupin in the "Harry Potter" series of films.

LOS ANGELES, June 11 (UPI) -- Emma Watson stars in a new Regression trailer.

The 25-year-old English actress shared the preview Wednesday on Facebook. Watson portrays Angela Gray, a small town Minnesotan girl who accuses her father (David Dencik) of a terrible crime.

Det. Bruce Kenner (Ethan Hawke) and psychologist Dr. Kenneth Raines (David Thewlis) are brought on to investigate after John Gray admits to the deed, albeit without recollection, and discover a terrifying secret below the surface.

Regression is written and directed by The Others helmer Alejandro Amenabar, and opens in theaters Aug. 28. Devon Bostick and Dale Dickey co-star as relatives Roy and Rose Gray, with Aaron Ashmore as George and Adam Butcher as Brody.

Watson and Thewlis previously collaborated on the Harry Potter film series, which features the actress as Hermione Granger and Thewlis as Remus Lupin. Watson is also scheduled for new thriller Colonia and a live-action Disney adaptation of Beauty and the Beast.
