"With such tremendous fan and critical support for John Wick, we knew that there was still so much more of this story to tell," acquisitions and co-productions president Jason Constantine said in a statement. "We promise to bring audiences even more excitement the second time around."

John Wick was released in October 2014, and stars Reeves as a retired hitman seeking revenge on the Russian mobsters who killed his puppy. The movie co-stars Michael Nyqvist, Alfie Allen and Adrianne Palicki, and earned over $78 million on a $20 million budget.

Reeves is scheduled for a number of other upcoming projects, including courtroom drama The Whole Truth with Renee Zellweger, detective film Daughter of God with Mira Sorvino and new Nicholas Winding Refn thriller The Neon Demon with Christina Hendricks.
