'Avengers: Age of Ultron' conquers the North American box office with a stunning $187.7M

LOS ANGELES, May 3 (UPI) -- Avengers: Age of Ultron is the No. 1 movie in North America, earning $187.7 million in the United States and Canada during its opening weekend, Rentrak announced Sunday.

Coming in at No. 2 for the period of May 1-3 is The Age of Adaline with $6.3 million, followed by Furious 7 at No. 3 with $6.1 million, Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 at No. 4 with $5.6 million and Home at No. 5 with $3.3 million.

Rounding out the top tier are Cinderella at No. 6 with $2.4 million, Ex Machina at No. 7 with $2.2 million, Unfriended at No. 8 with $2 million, The Longest Ride at No. 9 with $1.7 million and The Woman in Gold at No. 10 with $1.68 million.
