Alan Cumming portrayed an older version of the character in X2 (2003), which saw the superhero brainwashed into an assassination attempt on the president. The mutant is characterized by his indigo-colored skin, yellow eyes and prehensile tail, and also possesses superhuman agility.

X-Men: Apocalypse opens in theaters May 27, 2016. James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence will return as Charles Xavier, Magneto and Mystique, while Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp and Tye Sheridan have joined the cast as Jean Grey, Storm and Cylops.
