LOS ANGELES, April 8 (UPI) -- Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund are returning for the Tron: Legacy sequel. According to The Hollywood Reporter the actors will reprise their characters as Sam Flynn (Hedlund) and Quorra (Wilde) from the 2010 film.

The news comes weeks after it was reported that the third installment of the sci-fi thriller was slated to begin production in the fall.
The original Tron film was released in 1982 featuring Jeff Bridges as a young computer hacker who is abducted into a digital world and forced to partake in gladiatorial games, where he finds an ally in a heroic security program. The new version, Tron: Legacy was released in 2010 and followed Sam Flynn as he looked for his father in the digital world he designed.
Tron 3 has been in development at Disney for five years. There is no word on wether Bridges will return for the sequel.
