LOS ANGELES, March 29 (UPI) -- Australian film star Hugh Jackman has hinted he plans to retire from playing the comic-book character Wolverine on the big screen after one final movie.

"WOLVERINE ...ONE LAST TIME. HJ," the 46-year-old actor captioned Saturday's Instagram photo of his hands -- one of which featured Wolverine's signature steel claws.

Jackman did not say if he would portray the part in the next X-Men movie or in a third standalone Wolverine-centric flick. The actor last played the role in 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past.
