LOS ANGELES, March 3 (UPI) -- Lily James wore a fairy tale dress to the Los Angeles premiere of Cinderella on Sunday.

The 25-year-old actress looked like a real-life princess in a shimmering Elie Saab gown with intricate embroidered detail and Christian Louboutin heels adorned with sparkling butterflies. James accessorized with Kwiat jewelry and a clock-shaped Charlotte Olympia clutch.

"Thank you @ElieSaabWorld for making me feel like a Princess!" the star wrote on Instagram. "Also, a huge thanks to @louboutinworld and @charlotte_olympia for my beautiful Cinderella inspired custom made Glass Slipper and Clutch - and @kwiatdiamonds for my jewels!"

James will portray the titular princess in a live-action Disney adaptation of the traditional fairy tale. The studio previously released an animated version in 1950, and the remake will co-star Cate Blanchett as wicked stepmother Lady Tremaine and Helena Bonham Carter as the Fairy Godmother.

"I was so excited," James told E! News of being cast in the role. "I think I screamed on the phone when [director Kenneth Branagh] told me. I was totally overwhelmed and then I was really scared and then I was excited again ... It went around in a circular motion like that for a long time and still is."

Cinderella opens in theaters March 13. James is best known for portraying Lady Rose McClare on ITV series Downton Abbey, and will star as Elizabeth Bennet in an upcoming adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith novel Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
