Working Title releases image of Eddie Redmayne as transgender woman in 'The Danish Girl'

LONDON, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Working Title has released the first image of Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne as Lili Elbe, the transgender woman he will play in the film The Danish Girl.

"Eddie Redmayne as Lili Elbe in THE DANISH GIRL. Directed by Tom Hooper, the film is currently in production," the studio tweeted Friday alongside the photo of Redmayne as the Danish artist, who died in 1931 at the age of 48.

Redmayne and Hooper previously collaborated on the 2012 movie musical Les Miserables. Redmayne won the Oscar for Best Actor Sunday for his performance in the Stephen Hawking biopic The Theory of Everything.
