'How to Train Your Dragon 2' wins big at the Annie Awards

"Our industry waits all year for this event and it never disappoints," said ASIFA-Hollywood Executive Director Frank Gladstone.

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- How to Train Your Dragon 2 scored the top prize for Best Animated Feature at the 42nd annual Annie Awards Saturday night at UCLA's Royce Hall.

The trophy for Best Animated Special Production was presented to Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, while the Best Animated Short Subject honor went to Feast.

Flight of the Stories won for Best Animated TV/Broadcast Commercial, Tumble Leaf won for Best General Audience Animated TV/Broadcast Production for Preschool Children, Gravity Falls won for Best Animated TV/Broadcast Production for Children's Audience and The Simpsons won for Best General Audience Animated TV/Broadcast Production.

"Our industry waits all year for this event and it never disappoints," ASIFA-Hollywood Executive Director Frank Gladstone said in a statement. "This was a terrific night with something for everyone. It was fun to take a look back at our history, celebrate and honor what we have accomplished over the past year, and even look forward a little to what is in store for 2015 and beyond."
