PARIS, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- Say what you will about Kristen Stewart, but she's just become the first American actress in 30 years to be nominated for a César Award in France.

Stewart was nominated for best supporting actress for her role in independent film Clouds of Sils Maria, which also stars Juliette Binoche. Binoche was also nominated for her role in the film.

The César Awards are the French equivalent of the Academy Awards.

The last American to be nominated for the French award in acting was Adrien Brody for his role in 2003's The Pianist. He won. The last American actress to earn a nomination was Julia Migenes in 1985 for her role in Carmen. She didn't win.

This is a big feather in the cap of Stewart, who in 2013 won a Golden Raspberry Award for worst actress for her role as Bella in Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2. She's won a total of five Razzies.

Even the Razzies are recognizing Stewart's doing some better work these days. She was nominated this year for the Redeemer award for her role in Camp X-Ray.
