Lauren Cohan to star in horror film 'The Boy'

Cohan is best known for her role in AMC's "The Walking Dead" and has also appeared on television's "Supernatural," "Chuck" and "The Vampire Diaries."

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 26 (UPI) -- The Walking Dead star Lauren Cohan has been cast as the lead in a forthcoming horror film from Lakeshore Entertainment and Vertigo Entertainment.

According to an exclusive report from The Hollywood Reporter, Cohan, 33, will star The Boy a thriller directed by William Brent Bell (The Devil Inside) and penned by Stacey Menear.

The film will tell the story of a nanny who is hired to look over a doll by a couple struggling to recover from the death of their child. The story's climax comes when Cohan's character becomes convinced the baby she's caring for is real.

Cohan is best known for her role in the AMC zombie series and has also appeared on television's Supernatural, Chuck and The Vampire Diaries.

Production for The Boy will begin in March in British Columbia.
