Jennifer Lawrence, Francis Lawrence could reunite in drama 'The Dive'

Francis Lawrence has directed Jennifer Lawrence in three out of four installments of the movie adaptation of the "Hunger Games" saga.

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 19 (UPI) -- Hunger Games actress and director Jennifer Lawrence and Francis Lawrence are in talks to team up again in James Cameron's upcoming romantic drama The Dive.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Cameron -- best known for directing Titanic and Avatar -- is producing the film with Jon Landau, Rae Sanchini and Barry Josephson, who has been working on it since 2002.

The Dive tells the real-life story of Cuban diver Francisco 'Pipin' Ferreras and French-born diver Audrey Mestre, who became a world record-setting diver under Ferreras guidance, and who died in 2002 while attempting a breath-hold dive. She was 28.

Francis Lawrence has directed Jennifer Lawrence in three out of four installments of the movie adaptation of the Hunger Games saga including Catching Fire, Mockingjay -- Part 1 and Mockingjay -- Part 2.

While the actress and the director's involvement in the film remains unclear, Jennifer Lawrence has at least been offered the part.

The Dive's script was originally penned by Laeta Kalogridis, who worked with Cameron in Avatar. The current draft was written by J. Michael Straczynski.

Lawrence is in preproduction to star in director David O'Russell's Joy.
