"It's like a Midwestern housewife who has never left her town and reads People magazine every day and George Clooney knocks on her door and goes, 'Do you want to make out?' She would say, 'Yes!'" Blunt explained.

NEW YORK, Nov. 28 (UPI) -- British actress Emily Blunt jokes that she understands why her character cheated on her baker husband with Prince Charming in the fractured fairytale movie musical Into the Woods.

"It's Prince Charming, you know what I mean?" Blunt said at a recent New York press conference where she was seated between James Corden, who plays her hapless husband in the film, and Chris Pine, who portrays the randy royal.

"It's like a Midwestern housewife who has never left her town and reads People magazine every day and George Clooney knocks on her door and goes, 'Do you want to make out?' She would say, 'Yes!'" Blunt explained.

"But you're already married to Brad Pitt," Corden told her, referring to his character. "Yes, you did deserve to die."

In real life, Blunt is married to actor John Krasinski.

Directed by Rob Marshall, Into the Woods co-stars Meryl Streep, Anna Kendrick, Johnny Depp, Christine Baranski and Tracey Ullman. It is scheduled to open in theaters Dec. 25.
