LONDON, Nov. 24 (UPI) -- Rita Ora says her role in Fifty Shades of Grey has opened a lot of doors.

The 23-year-old singer will portray Christian Grey's (Jamie Dornan) sister, Mia Grey, in the upcoming movie adaptation of E.L. James' erotic novel. Ora told OK! magazine the experience inspired her to further pursue acting, and led to other opportunities in film.

"For me this was such a great cameo to be involved in, and even though I'm only in it for a little bit, it's opened the door to a lot of movie things that I haven't actually announced yet," she teased. "I have the [acting] bug, for real. Fifty Shades was a moment of cameo and a really good wakeup call. It was nice to be a part of it and it opened a lot of doors."

Ora previously portrayed Rosanna in the film Spivs (2004), and had an uncredited appearance in Fast & Furious 6 (2013). She also guest starred as herself on The CW series 90210 and served as a judge on season nine of The X Factor, and will act as a coach on The Voice UK in 2015.

Fifty Shades of Grey opens in theaters Feb. 13, 2015.
