Penelope Cruz joins 'Zoolander 2'

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Spanish actress Penelope Cruz will reportedly join Ben Stiller in the upcoming sequel, Zoolander 2.

Cruz's part in the film was announced by Deadline on Thursday, but the details of her character remain unknown. Her casting comes three months after Zoolander star and director Justin Theroux announced the sequel in an interview with Vulture.

At the time, the actor said he was unsure he'd be able to direct the sequel and added that Stiller would be a great fit for the job.

Zoolander 2 will see Stiller's character, Derek, working as a model again when a company tries to take him out of the business.

Actor Will Ferrell, who played fashion mogul Jacobim Mugatu in the original film, said in September he will reprise his role in the sequel.
