Blake Lively stars in first trailer for 'The Age of Adaline'

The film is helmed by "Celeste and Jesse Forever" director Lee Toland Krieger.

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Blake Lively stars in a first trailer for The Age of Adaline.

The 27-year-old actress portrays the title character, a woman who ceases to age after she is in a car accident. Adaline must repeatedly change her identity and avoid romantic complications as she remains 27 years old throughout the decades.

The film is directed by Lee Toland Krieger (Celeste and Jesse Forever), and written by J. Mills Goodloe and Salvador Paskowitz. Ellen Burstyn also stars as Adaline's daughter Flemming, with Michiel Huisman as Adaline's present day love interest and Harrison Ford as her past beau, William.

Lively is best known for her portrayal of Serena van der Woodsen on The CW series Gossip Girl. She also appeared in such films as The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005) and its sequel, Green Lantern (2011) and Savages (2012).

The Age of Adaline opens in theaters April 24, 2015.
