Keira Knightley, Eddie Redmayne, Shailene Woodley win Hollywood Film Awards

"Gone Girl" won the top prize of Best Film at Friday's ceremony.

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- "Awards season is officially off and running," Hollywood Film Awards show host Queen Latifah declared Friday evening.

The first comprehensive prize presentation for excellence in 2014 cinema culminated in a Best Film win for the pyschological thriller Gone Girl, which also garnered the prize for Best Screenwriter for Gillian Flynn, who previously penned the novel on which the movie was based.

Julianne Moore won the trophy for Best Actress for Still Alice and Birdman standout Michael Keaton was presented with a career achievement award.

The Imitation Game co-stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley picked up the statuettes for Best Actor and Supporting Actress respectively, while Morten Tyldum, the man who helmed the picture, won the Best Director title.

Robert DuVall won for Best Supporting Actor for The Judge, while The Theory of Everything lead Eddie Redmayne and The Fault in Our Stars heroine Shailene Woodley took home the honors for Breakthrough Performance by an Actor and Actress.

The cast of Foxcatcher -- including Steve Carell, Mark Ruffalo and Channing Tatum -- earned the Best Ensemble accolade.
