Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston to appear in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'

Elba portrays Heimdall, the guardian sentry of Asgard, with Hiddleston as Loki.

IBIZA, Spain, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Idris Elba has confirmed he and Tom Hiddleston appear in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

The 42-year-old actor announced the news in an interview with the Daily Telegraph published Sunday. Elba first portrayed Heimdall alongside Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Tom Hiddleston as Loki in Thor (2011), and reprised the character for Thor: The Dark World (2013).

"I'm in Avengers," he revealed. "And I'm doing a scene with Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston, and they're like, 'Aren't you [supposed to be] in Ibiza?'"

Elba currently DJs as 7wallace at the Pikes Hotel in Ibiza, Spain. The actor is best known for portraying Russell "Stringer" Bell on HBO drama The Wire, and Detective John Luther on BBC series Luther. He has also appeared in such films as American Gangster, Prometheus and Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is directed by Joss Whedon, and co-stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Chris Evans as Captain America and newcomers Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch and Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver. The film opens in theaters May 1, 2015.
