LOS ANGELES, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Emma Stone and the rest of the Birdman cast opened up about how demanding it was to participate in director Alejandro González Iñárritu's new film, which thanks to a series of well placed scene cuts appears to have been shot in just one take.

"It was hard. It was definitely hard," Stone told MTV News about Iñárritu's long scenes techniques.

"And I screwed it up, quite a few times. And I was just so sick to my stomach, waiting for them to do the scene, hearing how good this take was going to be and then coming in, and going around the corner too fast and ruining it," she revealed.

Asked for the director's reaction at the times she made mistakes, Stone said he would simply say: "You're ruining the movie!"

"And then you go, 'Oh, my god,'" she said. "You know, he doesn't mince words, and so I was ruining the movie... And then I wasn't anymore when I slowed down around the corner."

Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) tells the story of a washed up actor who signs up to do a Broadway play in a bid to reclaim his past glory. The film features Michael Keaton in the starring role of Riggan Thomson and Stone as his daughter, Sam.
