LOS ANGELES, Oct. 22 (UPI) -- UPDATE: Check out the new extended trailer below
Avengers: Age of Ultron has released a first trailer.
The preview was scheduled to air after next week's episode of ABC series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but leaked online early. Marvel acknowledged the leak by tweeting, "Dammit, Hydra," and has since officially released the trailer.
Ultron (James Spader) narrates the decidedly dark teaser, which sees Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) wage an increasingly desperate battle against the supervillain. Newcomers Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) are also involved in the fight.
Avengers: Age of Ultron is directed by Joss Whedon, and will open in theaters May 1, 2015. Marvel and Disney released the official plot details for the film in September.
