Naomi Campbell lands recurring role on Fox's 'Empire'

The series stars Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson and Trai Byers as a family reaping the benefits of a hip-hop empire.

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Naomi Campbell is headed for the small screen.

The 44-year-old supermodel has landed a recurring role in Fox's upcoming musical drama, Empire, Deadline reports. The series stars Terrece Howard, Taraji P. Henson and Trai Byers as a family reaping the benefits of a hip-hop empire. The show was co-written and directed by Lee Daniels.

Campbell will play Camilla, "an alluring woman involved in a steamy affair with" Bryshere Gray's character Hakeem, who is a younger man and the potential heir to his father's hip-hop throne.

Campbell's previous television credits include Fastlane and New York Undercover. She is also one of three model coaches and serves as executive producer of Oxygen's modeling competition The Face.

Empire will premiere sometime in 2014 or 2015.
