"When you're in it, it's so awkward you can't think of anything else, but that I can feel Dennis Haysbert's heart pounding up against my chest," DeWitt explains.

TORONTO, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- Rosemarie DeWitt says the sex scenes in her new film Men, Women & Children "terrified" her, but her trust in writer-director Jason Reitman got her through the experience.

Reitman's latest comedic drama examines the impact of the Internet on various adolescents and their parents. DeWitt plays a woman whose husband is addicted to pornography, causing her to begin an affair with a man she meets online.

"I was terrified of the sex scenes in the movie and I kind of couldn't believe how tastefully done they were. [Reitman] kept telling me they would be," DeWitt said at a recent Toronto International Film Festival press conference.

The actress went on to say she had some reservations because Chad Kultgen's 2011 book, upon which the film was based, is so overtly sexual. However, she added she trusted Reitman and his vision for the movie, recallling how Reitman once cautioned her during a take, "It's getting a little dirty, you need to pull back."

"So, it was just really always being aware of tone and always being aware of the audience because when you're in it, it's so awkward you can't think of anything else, but that I can feel Dennis Haysbert's heart pounding up against my chest. Really, that's all you can feel. It's, like, so crazy!" DeWitt exclaimed.
