LONDON, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Martin Scorsese has signed on to produce Tomorrow.

The 71-year-old director will executive produce the film for longtime script consultant Martha Pinson. The feature marks Pinson's directorial debut, and stars Stephen Fry, Joss Stone, Sophie Kennedy-Clark, Paul Kaye, Stephanie Leonidas, Sebastian Street and Stuart Brennan. Street and Brennan wrote the script, and will also produce the project.

Tomorrow examines the difficulties soldiers face as they reintegrate into society. Filming began in London on Monday, and will also take place in Wiltshire and Spain.

"Though [Pinson's] vision, the great cast and dedicated team, this story will resonate for years," Scorsese said in a statement.

"Tomorrow is a great script," Pinson lauded. "The dialogue is brilliant and believable; the reversals and surprises are well-placed and powerful. The characters and situations are vividly drawn."

Scorsese is involved in a number of projects, including a film about the Ramones and a Shutter Island prequel series for HBO. He and Pinson previously collaborated on his films The Aviator, The Departed, Shutter Island and Hugo.
