Matt Damon re-teaming with 'Margaret' director for new film

Matt Damon to play a troubled plumber whose brother dies in Kenneth Lonergan's 'Manchester-by-the-Sea.'

HOLLYWOOD, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Matt Damon is set to work with writer-director Kenneth Lonergan for the second time on a drama titled Manchester-by-the-Sea.

The two first collaborated on 2011's Margaret, starring Anna Paquin, who is tormented after witnessing a bus accident that kills a woman. Damon played Paquin's character's teacher.

In Manchester-by-the-Sea, Damon will play a troubled plumber from Boston who must return to Manchester after his brother dies and take care of his nephew.

The script for Manchester is expected to be similar in tone to Lonergan's You Can Count On Me, which earned him an Oscar nomination for best original screenplay.

Meanwhile, Gigi Pritzker is expected to produce and finance the new film through OddLot Entertainment. That deal is still in the works.
