Robert De Niro to star in Martin Scorsese short film

The actor has appeared in eight Scorsese films, including "Taxi Driver" and "Goodfellas."

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt will star in a short film by Martin Scorsese.

The trio of actors will appear in a casino-themed short for Melco-Crown Entertainment. The global resorts and casino brand will premiere the film at the opening of their new, movie-themed resort in Macau in 2015.

Wolf of Wall Street writer and Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter penned the script, with RatPac Entertainment's Brett Ratner as producer. Melco-Crown's Lawrence Ho and James Packer will executive produce.

The film marks Pitt's first collaboration with Scorsese, and the first time he, De Niro and DiCaprio have appeared in the same movie. De Niro has starred in eight Scorsese films, including Taxi Driver (1976), Goodfellas (1980) and Casino (1995), while Di Caprio has starred in five, including Gangs of New York (2002), The Departed (2006) and The Wolf of Wall Street (2013).
