LOS ANGELES, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Royal sisters Elsa and Anna, the beloved characters from the blockbuster animated musical Frozen, will appear in a new short film, executive producer John Lasseter announced Tuesday.

Featuring the voice talents of Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad, the original fairytale flick opened late last year and became a box-office phenomenon. It also went on to win the Oscar for Best Animated Feature, while its anthem Let It Go won the Academy Award for Best Original Song.

"We are bringing back the characters from Frozen. We are doing a short. It will have a new song. Basically, the whole crew is returning. It is absolutely hilarious," Lasseter said at the end of ABC's special, The Story of Frozen: Making A Disney Animated Classic, Tuesday night.

Lasseter did not offer details about the short film's plot or say when the movie will be released.
