LOS ANGELES, June 25 (UPI) -- Rachel McAdams' audition tape for The Notebook is making the rounds in honor of the film's 10th anniversary.

The romantic drama premiered June 25, 2004. One rainy kiss between Allie (McAdams) and Noah (Ryan Gosling), and the Nicholas Sparks adaptation was cemented in love story history.

Director Nick Cassavetes shared in a featurette that McAdams' audition made it clear she was "the one." The actress prepared for the role by reading "the script the night before and [bawling her] eyes out," and declared the reading "the best audition experience [she's] ever had." McAdams pulls out all of the emotional stops in the audition tape as she trades lines with an offscreen Gosling.

The Notebook went on to gross over $115 million at the box office, and McAdams and Gosling became a real-life couple from 2005 to 2007. The movie catapulted the actors into stardom, and paved the way for many more Nicholas Sparks adaptions. McAdams will next appear alongside James Franco and Charlotte Gainsbourg in Every Thing Will Be Fine, while Gosling is set to star in an untitled Terrence Malick film in 2015.
