LOS ANGELES, June 25 (UPI) -- Emily Blunt really enjoyed killing Tom Cruise's character over and over in the duo's latest film, Edge of Tomorrow.

While speaking to MTV at the sci-fi thriller's red carpet, Blunt opened up about the violent ways in which her character, Rita, killed Cruise's, Cage.

"In many violent ways, mercilessly," Blunt said. "It was really exciting. I would laugh after each take, just at Tom's face, going 'Oh c'mon.'"

Asked about her favorite killing scene, Blunt said she "sort of liked the casual one" where she just doesn't look.

"I just kind of shoot him like that," she said. "It's sort of like, oh God, it's so boring. I can't be bothered."

Edge of Tomorrow tells the story of two officers who find themselves fighting with an alien race. The Doug Liman film is in theaters now.
