'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' star Megan Fox reveals childhood crush on Michelangelo

The actress stars as reporter April O'Neil in Jonathan Liebesman's upcoming "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" reboot.

NEW YORK, June 9 (UPI) -- Megan Fox says she has always been a fan of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The 28-year-old actress stars as reporter April O'Neil in Jonathan Liebesman's upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot. She recently caught up with MTV on the set of the film, and shared her excitement for the movie.

"They were my favorite movies as a kid," she says of previous adaptations. "That was my thing. Way, way more so than Star Wars or in later years, still more than Lord of the Rings. It was always Ninja Turtles."

"My first crush, and everyone things this is really weird, but little girls have crushes on animated characters, and my first crush was Michelangelo," she reveals. "So I'm super excited."

The reboot stars Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Jeremy Howard as Donatello and Pete Ploszek as Leonardo. William Fichtner, Danny Woodburn and Will Arnett also appear as Shredder, Splinter and Vernon Fenwick. Johnny Knoxville will provide the voice for Leonardo, while Tony Shalhoub will voice Splinter.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is scheduled for release August 8.
