'X-Men: Days of Future Past' earns $90.7M at the North American box office

The superhero ensemble film also earned $171 million from the international marketplace for a nearly $262 million opening-weekend tally.

LOS ANGELES, May 26 (UPI) -- X-Men: Days of Future Past crushed the competition at the North American box office this weekend, raking in a whopping $90.7 million during its first three days of release, Rentrak announced.

Starring Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Peter Dinklage and James McAvoy, the time-hopping, superhero ensemble film also earned more than $171 million from the international marketplace for a nearly $262 million, global, opening-weekend tally.

Coming in at No. 2 in the United States and Canada is Godzilla with $31.4 million, followed by Blended at No. 3 with $14.2 million, Neighbors at No. 4 with $13.9 million and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 at No. 5 with $7.8 million.

Rounding out the top tier are Million Dollar Arm at No. 6 with $7.1 million, The Other Woman at No. 7 with $3.7 million, Rio 2 at No. 8 with $2.5 million, Chef at No. 9 with $2.3 million and Heaven is For Real at No. 10 with $1.9 million.
