ABU DAHBI , United Arab Emirates, May 21 (UPI) -- J.J. Abrams wants fans to donate money to UNICEF for a chance to appear in his upcoming film, Star Wars: Episode VII.
The 47-year-old director released a video about his new initiative, Force for Change, on Thursday, in which he explains how taking part in his efforts to help UNICEF's Innovation Labs and Programs could land fans a role in the next Star Wars movie.
Star Wars: Force for Change, a joint initiative from Disney and Lucasfilm in collaboration with Bad Robot, is dedicated to "finding creative solutions to some of the world's biggest problems." It's first campaign will raise funds for "innovative projects benefiting children in need."
Fans can donate as little as $10 -- and as much as $50,000 -- for a chance to be flown to London, get behind-the-scene access on the set of Episode VII, meet the cast, and be transformed into a Star Wars character that will appear in the upcoming film.
You can learn more about the initiative in the clip below and donate to Force for Change here.
