BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Feb. 13 (UPI) -- The sixth and final season of "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" is to premiere exclusively on Netflix in the United States and Canada next month.

Disney/ABC Television Group, Lucasfilm and Netflix Inc. announced Thursday the 13-episode new season will debut on the website March 7.

Netflix said it will also be the exclusive home for director's cut editions of reruns from past seasons.

"'Star Wars' is one of the most iconic franchises of all time and this series joins a long line of Disney content that Netflix members are and will continue to enjoy for years to come," Ted Sarandos, Netflix chief content officer, said in a statement. "'The Clone Wars' marks an important moment as Netflix welcomes more and more first-run content from The Walt Disney Company and its subsidiaries."
