Julia Roberts' sister dies of apparent drug overdose

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Nancy Motes, the 37-year-old half-sister of siblings Eric and Julia Roberts, has died of an apparent drug overdose in Los Angeles, her family announced.

"It is with deep sadness that the family of Nancy Motes ... confirms that she was found dead in Los Angeles yesterday of an apparent drug overdose," the family said in a statement Monday.

"There is no official report from the coroner's office yet. The family is both shocked and devastated."

Julia Roberts is a current Oscar nominee for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in "August: Osage County."
