LOS ANGELES, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- "Blue Jasmine" stars Cate Blanchett and Alec Baldwin were drawn into the controversy involving Dylan Farrow's allegations against New York director Woody Allen.

Farrow, Allen's 28-year-old adopted daughter, posted a letter on the New York Times website detailing her claims Allen sexually abused her when she was 7. He has never been charged with any crime and has vehemently denied any wrongdoing.

In the letter, Farrow expresses how upset she is because Hollywood continues to honor Allen despite her allegations. Blanchett and her co-star Sally Hawkins are nominated for Oscars for their performances in 2013's "Blue Jasmine," while Allen, who wrote and directed the movie, is up for Best Screenplay.

"What if it had been your child, Cate Blanchett? Louis CK? Alec Baldwin? What if it had been you, Emma Stone? Or you, Scarlett Johansson? You knew me when I was a little girl, Diane Keaton. Have you forgotten me?" Farrow wrote in her letter, calling out artists who have recently worked with Allen.

"Woody Allen is a living testament to the way our society fails the survivors of sexual assault and abuse," Farrow wrote.

"It's obviously been a long and painful situation for the family and I hope they find some sort of resolution and peace," People.com quoted Blanchett as saying when asked about the letter at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

"What [expletive] is wrong w u that u think we all need to b commenting on this family's personal struggle?" Baldwin tweeted in response to a fan who asked whether he feels Farrow deserves an apology from him for working with Allen.

In separate responses to other questions, Baldwin replied: "So you know who's guilty? Who's lying? You, personally, know that?" and "You are mistaken if you think there is a place for me, or any outsider, in this family's issue."

People.com said Baldwin's tweets were later deleted from his page.

Sony Pictures Classics, the company which distributed Allen's critically acclaimed films "Blue Jasmine" and "Midnight in Paris," issued a statement to the Hollywood Reporter Sunday, addressing Farrow's allegations

"We have had a long, productive and rewarding relationship with Mr. Allen. This is a very complicated situation and a tragedy for everyone involved. Mr. Allen has never been charged in relationship to any of this, and therefore deserves our presumption of innocence," the statement said.

"Films are major efforts of collaboration. There are scores of artists and crafts people behind 'Blue Jasmine.' We support and celebrate their extraordinary work here, and count 'Blue Jasmine' as a major achievement of Mr. Allen's career."
