'Captain Phillips' tops DVD sales and rental charts

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- The Somali-pirate kidnap drama "Captain Phillips" is the top-selling DVD and No. 1 rental in the United States, Rentrak reported Monday.

Coming in at No, 2 on the DVD and Blu-ray sales roster for the week ending Jan. 26 is "Lee Daniels' The Butler," followed by "Riddick" at No. 3, "Machete Kills" at No. 4 and "Instructions Not Included" at No. 5.

Rounding out the top tier are "Despicable Me 2" at No. 6, "Carrie" at No. 7, "Fruitvale Station" at No. 8, "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters" at No. 9 and "Fast & Furious 6" at No. 10.

The No. 2 DVD and Blu-ray rental for the week ended Jan. 25 is "Prisoners."

"Lee Daniels' The Butler" is No. 3, "Despicable Me 2" is No. 4, "The Family" is No. 5, "We're The Millers" is No. 6, "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters" is No. 7, "Fast & Furious 6" is No. 8, "The Wolverine" is No. 9 and "The Lone Ranger" is No. 10.
