LOS ANGELES, Jan. 29 (UPI) -- Hollywood writer-director Jason Reitman is working on a film adaptation of the soon-to-be-published novel "The Possibilities," EW.com reported.

Penned by "The Descendants" author Kaui Hart Hemmings, the book is about a Colorado woman grieving for a son killed in a skiing avalanche and the friendship she develops with a mysterious young girl.

The book is to be published this spring.
