Adam Sandler tops Forbes' list of overpaid actors

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Adam Sandler is the most overpaid actor in Hollywood, with his films making an average of $3.40 for every $1 he is paid, Forbes reported.

Coming in at No. 2 on the roster is Katherine Heigl whose films make an average of $3.50 for every dollar she earns.

Reese Witherspoon is No. 3 with films earning an average of $3.90 for every $1 she is paid, while Nicolas Cage is No. 4 with films earning an average of $6 for every $1 he is paid and Kevin James is No. 5 with films earning an average of $6.10 for every $1 he is paid.

Rounding out the top tier are Denzel Washington at No. 6 with films earning an average of $8.30 for every $1 he is paid, Steve Carell at No. 7 with films earning an average of $10 for every $1 he is paid, Jennifer Aniston and Matt Damon tied at No. 8 with films earning an average of $10.60 for every $1 they are each paid and followed by Ryan Reynolds with films earning an average of $10.70 for every $1 he is paid.
