Rob Cohen to direct 'Road House' remake

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 24 (UPI) -- U.S. director Rob Cohen has been recruited to direct an MGM remake of the 1989 Patrick Swayze film "Road House."

MGM is working with a script by Michael Stokes, which is about a soft-spoken man, originally played by Swayze, who takes a position as a bouncer at a small town bar, The Hollywood Reporter reported.

"Road House" is considered to be one of the films that helped launch Swazye's career. He followed the film up with 1990's "Ghost."

Cohen is best known for directing the first of "The Fast & The Furious" films, as well as "XXX"
