NEW YORK, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Actor Anthony Mackie, whose movie credits include "8 Mile," "We Are Marshall" and "The Hurt Locker," was arrested for drunken driving in New York, police said.

Law enforcement officials said he was arrested early Saturday when he was pulled over for tinted windows on his vehicle, celebrity website TMZ reported.

Officials said when they approached the vehicle, police noticed Mackie had bloodshot, watery eyes and smelled of liquor on his breath, the New York Daily News reported.

Police said Mackie failed several field sobriety tests then was cuffed and taken to a nearby police station. TMZ said the actor refused to submit to a blood-alcohol test, which means his license will be automatically suspended.

The Hollywood Reporter said Mackie portrays The Falcon in the Marvel comics movie, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," due out in April.
