Jamie Dornan to play Christian Grey in 'Fifty Shades of Grey' film

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Northern Irish actor and musician Jamie Dornan is to play Christian Grey in the film adaptation of the erotic novel "Fifty Shades of Grey," Variety reported.

The 31-year-old "Once Upon a Time" and "The Fall" star will replace Charlie Hunnam, who left the production to focus on his lead role on TV's "Sons of Anarchy."

Dakota Johnson will co-star as Anastasia Steele in "Fifty," which Sam Taylor-Johnson will direct.

The film is set for an Aug. 1 release.
