'Croods' tops DVD and Blu-ray sales chart

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 14 (UPI) -- "The Croods," an animated movie about a lovable prehistoric family, is the top-selling DVD and Blu-ray in the United States, Rentrak announced Monday.

The film features the voice talents of Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone and Ryan Reynolds.

Coming in at No. 1 on the DVD and Blu-ray sales roster for the week ending Oct. 6 is "The Little Mermaid -- Diamond Edition," followed by "Iron Man 3" at No. 3, "This is the End" at No. 4 and "World War Z" at No. 5.

Rounding out the top tier are "The Wizard of Oz -- 75th Anniversary Edition" at No. 6, "Star Trek Into Darkness" at No. 7, "The Frozen Ground" at No. 8, "Now You See Me" at No. 9 and "The Big Bang Theory" at No. 10.

The No. 1 DVD and Blu-ray rental for the week ended Oct. 5 is "Iron Man 3."

"World War Z" is No. 2, "This is the End" is No. 3, "The Great Gatsby" is No. 4, "Now You See Me" is No. 5," "Star Trek Into Darkness" is No. 6, "Redemption" is No. 7, "Oblivion" is No. 8, "The Frozen Ground" is No. 9 and "Epic" is No. 10.
