76 films submitted for Foreign Language Oscar consideration

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Oct. 8 (UPI) -- Seventy-six countries submitted films for consideration in the Foreign Language Film Oscar category for Hollywood's 86th Academy Awards, organizers announced.

Moldova and Saudi Arabia are first-time entrants; Montenegro is submitting for the first time as an independent country.

The 86th Academy Awards nominations will be announced Jan. 16. Oscars for outstanding film achievements of 2013 will be presented March 2 at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center and televised live on ABC.

The 2013 submissions in the Foreign Language Film category are:
