'World War Z' tops DVD sales and rental charts

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- The zombie apocalypse movie "World War Z" is the top-selling DVD and No. 1 rental in the United States, Rentrak announced Monday.

Coming in at No. 2 for the week ending Sept. 22 is "Star Trek Into Darkness," followed by "Now You See Me" at No. 3, "Arrow: The Complete First Season" at No. 4 and "The Big Bang Theory" at No. 5.

Rounding out the top tier are "Grimm: Season Two" at No. 6, "The Walking Dead: Season 3" at No. 7, "Epic" at No. 8, "The Great Gatsby" at No. 9 and "Sofia the First: Ready to Be a Princess" at No. 10.

The No. 2 DVD and Blu-ray rental for the week ended Sept. 21 is "Now You See Me."

"Star Trek Into Darkness" is No. 3, "Oblivion" is No. 4, "Pain & Gain" is No. 5, "Epic" is No. 6, "Olympus Has Fallen" is No. 7, "Peeples" is No. 8, "The Place Beyond the Pines" is No. 9 and "Empire State" is No. 10.
