'Salinger' team unharmed in plane incident

Sept. 2, 2013 at 8:41 AM

TELLURIDE, Colo., Sept. 2 (UPI) -- A plane carrying Weinstein Co. publicist Emmy Chang and David Shields, the co-author of "Salinger," crash-landed on a Colorado runway, but no one was hurt.

Chang, Shields, the other eight passengers and two crew members aboard the plane escaped unharmed when the landing gear collapsed and the aircraft skidded to a halt at Telluride Regional Airport Sunday afternoon, The Hollywood Reporter said.

The runway was closed and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the mishap, the San Miguel County Sheriff's Office told the entertainment industry trade newspaper.

"Salinger," a Weinstein Co. documentary about the late reclusive author of "The Catcher in the Rye" J.D. Salinger, is screening at the film festival.
