John Clark Gable, 52, is due back in court Sept. 30, TMZ said Monday.
The misdemeanor charges stem from his spring arrest after crashing into six parked cars in Malibu, Calif.
TMZ cited law-enforcement sources as saying Gable was under the influence of prescription medication at the time of the incident.
Gable has admitted he was taking pain medication for a minor leg injury he suffered while mountain biking, but he also said a brain aneurysm might have been responsible for the crash, TMZ said.
Clark Gable was the star of film classics such as "It Happened One Night," "Gone with the Wind" and "The Misfits." He died at age 59 of complications from a heart attack four months before his only son was born.
