Could latest 'Fast and Furious' be filming on Pike's Peak?

COLORADO SPRINGS, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Colorado Springs officials said Pikes Peak Highway will be shut down for the shooting of a film rumored to be the latest "The Fast and The Furious."

The highway will be shut down for a few days in September to make way for a Universal Pictures shoot, though no one has confirmed what film will be shot, The (Colorado Springs) Gazette reported Saturday.

The filming "will benefit both the city of Colorado Springs and Pikes Peak -- America's Mountain," a release from the city said Friday.

"They told me that they are not allowed to release" the name of the movie, said city spokeswoman Krithika Prashant, of the Pikes Peak-America's Mountain group. "They are directing all the calls to the Universal filming studio."

"Fast and Furious 7" is scheduled to be released July 11, 2014, Universal Pictures' website said.
