'Jack the Giant Slayer' tops DVD sales chart

LOS ANGELES, July 8 (UPI) -- The family fantasy flick "Jack the Giant Slayer" was the top-selling DVD and Blu-ray in the United States, Rentrak announced Monday.

Coming in at No. 2 on the DVD and Blu-ray sales roster for the week ended June 30 was "Oz the Great and Powerful," followed by "The Call" at No. 3, "Identity Thief" at No. 4 and "Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters" at No. 5.

Rounding out the top tier were "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone" at No. 6, "Snitch" at No. 7, "A Good Day to Die Hard" at No. 8, "Despicable Me" at No. 9 and "21 and Over" at No. 10.

The No. 1 DVD and Blu-ray rental for the week ended June 29 was "Oz the Great and Powerful."

"Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters" was No. 2, "Snitch" was No. 3, "The Call" was No. 4, "Side Effects" was No. 5, "Warm Bodies" was No. 6, "Cloud Atlas" was No. 7, "Beautiful Creatures" was No. 8, "Escape From Planet Earth" was No. 9 and "Safe Haven" was No. 10.
