'Despicable' not despicable at box office

LOS ANGELES, July 7 (UPI) -- The animated "Despicable Me 2," with the voice of Steve Carell, was No. 1 at the weekend box office with $82.518 million.

"The Lone Ranger," starring Johnny Depp, was second with $29.432 million.

All studio estimates of North American box office receipts are via Box Office Mojo.

"The Heat" was a close third with $25 million; "Monsters University" fourth with $19.59 million; "World War Z" fifth with $18.2 million; "White House Down" sixth with $13.5 million; "Man of Steel" seventh with $11.415 million; "Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain" eighth with $10.1 million; "This is the End" ninth with $5.8 million.

And "Now You See Me" 10th with $2.77 million.
