George Lucas and Mellody Hobson plan Chicago wedding reception

CHICAGO, June 28 (UPI) -- The Chicago Park District says it will close Promontory Point Saturday so George Lucas and his new bride Mellody Hobson can enjoy a lavish wedding reception.

The "Star Wars" creator married the DreamWorks Animation chairwoman at his Skywalker Ranch in California last weekend. Ron Howard, Steven Spielberg, Oprah Winfrey, Samuel L. Jackson and Harrison Ford attended the ceremony, which was officiated by journalist Bill Moyers.

The Chicago Tribune said residents were recently notified Promontory Point, as well as two nearby parking lots and public bathrooms, will be closed Saturday so the newlyweds could continue celebrating their marriage with a reception.

A park district spokeswoman told the Tribune taxpayers are not financing work being done in preparation for the party, including the construction of a large pavilion.
