Netflix to offer services in the Netherlands later this year

LOS GATOS, Calif., June 19 (UPI) -- Netflix says it plans to start offering its entertainment rental and streaming services to subscribers in the Netherlands later this year.

"Upon launch, broadband Internet users in the Netherlands can subscribe to Netflix and instantly watch Hollywood, local and global TV series and films, including critically acclaimed Netflix original series such as 'House of Cards' and 'Arrested Development' whenever and wherever they like on tablets, phones, TVs, game consoles and computers," the company said in a news release Wednesday.

The exact date Netflix will become available in the country has yet to be announced.

The company said it already has more than 36 million members in 40 countries.
